I am, in fact, a Jedi Master with phpBB, but that's really convincing. Is it Just proboards that sucks, then? Yes. Proboards is dreadful. Anyone talked to the HoI guys lately?

Updated with a couple, including Wiegraf, Ludovich, Pietro Farro and Elidibus who's totally not overpowered.
Giving the faction leaders primary and secondary classes would be cool too in case you know...they fight and shit, or you have to fight against them.

They look neat. I especially like Pietro, who looks suitably ostentatious in his over-the-top reds.
I'm not sure about Wiegraf, though. I've always been partial to his original sprite and such from FFT; he looks so visually distinct.
I think, thematically, Zalbaag's dark gray needs to be replaced with blue. That's the Hokuten color we're going with, so he should look like he's in-uniform. After all, he's more of a military man than either of his brothers.

He does look regal in that, like an elf champion dont you think? Heh. But sure. Heck everyone else is in their 'war gear' compared to their FFT counterparts.

Damn quite happy with my first Ordallian, Absi Najam the outrider. Looks quite well as a desert dweller/archer/rider. Sort of a mix between that FF12 guy Reddas with an assassin's creed feel.

The skin tone's good. I was kind of worried the first Ordallian was going to look like Barret, which seemed to be where you were going. But it turned out pretty good.
And lol at him being bald. The world needs more bald heroes.

Leaders and higher ups definitely need 2-3 classes put in. Especially for factions where you have to kill the leader to replace him like probably Baert Co and just to make the leader more intimidating.
Also, Mustadio and Besrodio reminds me of Tony Stark and his father. Might just add in an Iron Companion NPC. Won't be unbalanced of course, since its the only one in the game.

That would completely undermine the whole arc in FFT; it takes the stones to get a worker, after all. The way around that is to have a class that basically involves integrating augments. That's Barich's entire class and it's built into his biography and personality.

Probably closer to Iron Man than I thought then heh, but I really dont want it to be THAT close of a resemblance. But yeah I'll try to think of something.

How about you come up with a different sprite-box to put your character sprites/descriptions in?
The original seems.. Kinda lame?
I just came to me, since.. Im working on HUDs and menus myself.

I kind of like it, but I think we all would be kind of partial to the original sprite box because they have been used for this game since the beginning back in 2005/2006. There's nothing wrong with experimenting with some different ideas though, and see if any of them work or look better. Diethe is on vacation until Monday or Tuesday.
How's your thing coming along, Smash? I hope your making good progress. Have you been in discussion with lirmont at FFH? I have some questions about that which I haven't presented to him yet. Namely, how it sounds like he plans to charge for the program? Or am I misreading that?

Concerning sprite boxes, I personally think they should retain the flavor of the originals, while improved and better looking.
Yeah, my project is coming along great. Doing alot of story writing/pixels every day.
And yeah, I speak to him often. He's at work with the text part of the engine currently. I think what he means with charging for it, is that, in a way, he's developing this engine to be used in all manner of indie games, especially online ones. He's making interfaces to allow for heavy user customization of his engine, something similar to how Game Maker works, but with a clone FFTactics engine as the base, for people to edit about and make their own games.
What he says is that, if you contribute to his progress, he'll give you the contributor status, which means you get to use the whole thing for free if it comes to be one day.
So yeah, hope this explains the idea better.

Ah, I almost forgot: Here's a thief/sneaky character from my own project you guys could use as reference for Ordallian face features: Leynir the Deadly Nightshade, fame of his exploits puts all other thieves to shame, and inspires would-be thieves at the same time.

That explains a lot actually, thank you. As long as its all completely custom sprites that eases my mind. I need to get in contact with him as soon as possible. Great work on Leynir as well! That's a good representation of what I'd like our Ordallians to look like.
