I second the motion to include fire breath as "Reis' Wrath."

Mmkay, edited first post a bit with all of Schwer's changes. I'd rather keep Whirlwind Strike over Falling Strike (Partly because of the bravery thing, partly because you're right, Physical AoE is gonna be hard to come by, and partly because I just think it's a cooler and more expansive ability than Falling strike), so I'ma wait for other comments on those two before editing one or the other out.

And it fits the whole "mobile infantry" theme I figured lancer to be.

By the way, about those free skills. How about doing something like FF V and giving each class a minor skill as a free, like say Cover for a Knight, a minor self-heal for a priest, a magic missile-esque spell for the wizard, etc etc...
EDIT: Wait, what!? A double post? I gotta learn to stick to one method of finding new posts and not open the same thread from the forum and the Participated window...

It's worth considering, but I don't think we should really be setting out with the "every class must have a free crappy skill" mentality. Mmkay, edited first post a bit with all of Schwer's changes. It's on there. I listed it as Sweeping Strikes.

Makes sense. I do think that a knight should be able to occasionally bodyblock hits against squishier allies when standing next to them.

Aha, dunno how I missed that. I'm good with all that, then.

Is our Knight really that kind of Knight? I mean, he might be. Do we want to build him around Cover as his major raison d'etre?

Knight has his own topic. And, near as I can tell, the class is just about finished (just some late revisions in light of what happened with other POJs and level up finalization to tackle).

Made all changes here as well - moved Lancet to the 0-cost ability, threw some formulae in, and fixed ranges a bit. Standardized text on Falling Strike and simplified it so that it's a bit more useful.

Falling Strike is much more interesting now. But:
Success: 100% (Hit Rate), 50% (Terror) System: Inflicts 180% damage.
wut? Regular hit rate, 50% (of hit) to apply a CC, and it does nearly 200% damage? No way. Maybe if Terror's chance to succeed was like -5%, meaning the Lancer has a 5% chance to inflict himself with Terror.
180% damage is so out there, so completely off the wall, that you'd basically have no reason to ever use anything else. It really needs to be nerfed something awful. If we're keeping Terror on it, 80% damage is probably the highest we can go. And that's assuming 35% Terror.
Which is probably still broken.

As I said before, I don't think it's appropriate for the Lancer to have an HP drain ability - they survive melees because they can jump out of them to a more advantageous position pretty much at will, not because they can keep regenning HP.

Yeah, it was 5 AM, and I just threw numbers on stuff. I'll change that up. Also, I'm pretty positive that I was thinking 80% damage on that. No idea what I was smoking for the Terror Proc%. Mord: we can have it just do HP damage and heal MP, maybe?

Lancet only restoring MP works for me.
I'd like True Strike to also have a chance to add Provoke, since the Lancer doesn't have it. The Lancer is an ideal second-tier tank after the Knight, so we really should give him at least one ability with Provoke. Even if it's nowhere near as good as "I'll taunt you from a few squares away."
I'd like to see Dragon's Roar also inflict a small amount of damage to the Lancer.
Crimson Wings, Reis' Wrath, Dragon's Roar, Ring of Talons, and Terrifying Strike should all have (modest) MP requirements. If only to necessitate Lancet's use.

I'd rather not add MP costs to physical abilities just to keep Lancet. Don't Lancers have 10 skills anyway, or am I too drunk to count right now?
