I'd normally reply with "no other class has a class feature," but that's increasingly wrong because we're increasingly shoehorning "class features" into these guys.
So I guess we might as well. I'm not going to lose any sleep over this class, so do whatever you want. We need to move on.

Nor I. Apologies my activity level has fallen off recently - the Wedding is next weekend, so we're doing a ton of finalizing for that, and then Madison's mom is in the ICU, so we've been spending an inordinate amount of time at the hospital. I'll be working on some more class drafts here shortly.

Playing around with the one-tier concept, I find the mechanics and execution of the idea a bit sloppy. There would have to be quite a few variables to make it even look like it would work. So here's a suggestion. We can keep Fire/Blizzard/Lightning one tier, tie its damage equation down to stable numbers not including variables, and just make them low or mid level spells. Or, we split the ability into three tiers once again however keep them bunched by elemental difference. So, we would possibly call these three abilities Low Arcana, Mid Arcana and High Arcana and each ability would correspond to Fire/Blizzard/Lightning, Fira/Blizzara/Thundara, and Firaga/Blizzaga/Thundaga respectively.

There are a number of issues with keeping it single-tier, stemming mostly from our need to give each class exactly nine (ten) abilities and keep each class at exactly 6000 JP. Also, we need to figure this out prior to moving forward with most of the MOJ classes, especially this and Time Mage and all that.

Alright, so let's brainstorm around my three tier idea then.
Channel: Innate
Low Arcana: Fire, Blizzard, Thunder
Mid Arcana: Fira, Blizzara, Thundara
High Arcana: Firaga, Blizzaga, Thundaga
Bio
Unction
Magick Hammer
Curse
Sanguine Rite
Flare
We could swap out a few of those abilities as well. I think the three tiers of Arcana fit nicely though with this Black Mage.
